I can create personalized commissions to commemorate any special
occasion or help you create your own heirloom painting.
Using different materials such as family photos, birth announcements,
lace, fabric, newspaper clippings, I will work to create a piece
of art that expresses ideas or emotions of special meaning to you.
We may design it to suit a specific space, location or environment.
If you would like to discuss a commission, please email msteenart@aol.com
or call me, 314-994-1196.

I have 2 types of commissions available.
In the first type, if you see a piece on the site that
is already sold or close to what you had in mind, I can create a
piece customized for you, a piece similar to a piece on the website
but different for you in color, size or tone.
I do not ask for payment in advance and you are not obligated to
purchase the piece. We can speak by telephone about specifics and
you can send me photographs of the space for which we are designing
the piece.
In the second type of commission, we collaborate to create
a personal piece for a special occasion as an heirloom painting
for you and your family.
For a personal commission of this type, I ask for 50% deposit and
the balance on approval of the piece.

Your painting becomes a scrapbook that hangs on a wall to be passed for
generations without deteriorations that can occur with a piece that does
not hang.

The occasions for which I have created pieces in the past include:
wedding gifts, ketubahs, baby christenings, anniversary celebrations,
graduations, promotions, and special birthdays.
The locations for which I have created customized
artworks include hospitals, legal offices and corporate offices.

Missouri Baptist Cancer Center is fortunate to have
not one but two of Marian Steen's beautiful paintings.
They have enhanced the atmosphere of what is often a
difficult place for people to visit.
Ms. Steen's artwork has helped us to make the inherently
clinical experience of visiting our Center more comfortable
and comforting than it otherwise might be.
